PERSONAL STORY

As someone who has a strong interest in languages, intercultural communication, and education, I believe that language serves as one of the most powerful tools for connecting people from different backgrounds, cultures, and perspectives. Throughout my academic journey, I have developed a deep appreciation for the role that language plays not only in communication but also in fostering understanding, cooperation, and cultural exchange. This appreciation has inspired me to explore the possibility of becoming an Indonesian language teacher in the digital era.

In today’s increasingly interconnected world, the importance of language education continues to grow. The advancement of technology and digital communication has created opportunities for people from various countries to interact more frequently than ever before. As international cooperation, tourism, business, and cultural exchange continue to expand, the need for effective language education becomes increasingly significant. In this context, I believe that Indonesian language education has an important role to play in introducing Indonesia’s rich cultural heritage, values, traditions, and perspectives to global audiences.

Although Bahasa Indonesia may not currently be among the most widely studied languages in the world, I believe that its importance will continue to increase alongside Indonesia’s growing influence in the global community. Indonesia possesses remarkable cultural diversity, economic potential, and international relevance. Therefore, promoting Indonesian language education can contribute not only to language learning but also to intercultural understanding and international collaboration.

My interest in becoming an Indonesian language teacher originates from my passion for learning languages and exploring different cultures. As a student of English Literature, I have had opportunities to study various aspects of language, communication, linguistics, and cultural studies. Throughout this learning process, I have become increasingly interested in multilingual communication and the ways in which language can connect individuals across national and cultural boundaries.

In addition to studying English, I have developed a personal interest in learning multiple foreign languages. This experience has provided me with valuable insights into the challenges and rewards of language learning. By experiencing the learning process from a student’s perspective, I have gained a greater understanding of the importance of patience, motivation, effective teaching methods, and cultural sensitivity. However, I believe that digital education should not simply focus on technological innovation. I am currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature, where I have had the opportunity to study various aspects of language, linguistics, literature, translation, and intercultural communication. Through this academic experience, I have developed a deeper understanding of how language functions not only as a means of communication but also as a tool for cultural exchange and global understanding.

During my studies, I have developed a particular interest in linguistics, language learning, and multilingual communication. I have spent considerable time independently studying various foreign languages, which has allowed me to gain practical experience as a language learner.
